Morag and Erin have been writing together for years now. It all started with an online (Pirate!) RPG. The RPG didn't last, but their writing did, and so did the characters, and the story of Virago was born. Since then they've written historical fiction, science fiction, chick-lit, superhero fic, fantasy, noir and who knows what else, all with a distinctly sapphic bent. Eventually, they decided that such a large volume of original work might be of passing interest to their fellow deprived femmeslash readers of the internet, and here, for your delectation and delight, isin_themeantime.
We have written dozens of different storylines over the past few years, some successful and long-running, some less so. We will release them here in chapters, several stories at once. Most of these stories are unfinished, but many are ongoing and still have plot to be unfolded. The ones that prove to be popular will most certainly be continued, so it's worth making your favourites known in commentary. The reader should probably think of these stories as ongoing serials or soap operas, with plots that occur along the way in fits and starts, rather than novels with concrete beginnings and ends. To date we have only written original fiction, although some is highly (and quite intentionally) derivative.
Erin, Californian by way of various other states, is an environmental educator, photographer, and dinosaur enthusiast. Morag, a Scot, is a musician, dilettante and procrastinator. Their writing relationship began in September 2005 on opposite sides of the Atlantic. They now live together in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The stories here are borne of the kind of collaborative writing one finds in online RPGs. We like to think that they read for the most part smoothly, like third-person narrative fiction, and they've been edited for form, consistency and spelling/grammar/punctuation. They are not, however, edited or beta'd for content, pacing, and so on, and as such may ramble, go off in small tangents, and occasionally lose direction. We are not planning to publish any of this work (for now, at least), and thus present this material in its original form. Please do take this into consideration if you choose to delve into our writings. Most importantly, enjoy! These tales all have their serious, sometimes tragic, moments, but at the end of the day there's a lot of fluff, and we hope plenty of silliness and fun to be had.
'Active' stories are currently updating, probably on around a weekly basis. This won't always be advertised on communities, so do check back regularly or friend us!
